The Kebbi State Government has handed over four brand-new Toyota Hilux vehicles to Squadron 36 of the Mobile Police Force in Birnin Kebbi, aimed at enhancing security in key locations. The ceremony took place at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, with Governor Dr. Nasir Idris represented by Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida.
Governor Idris emphasized the administration's commitment to citizen safety, saying, "My administration is seriously concerned about people's security and the state in general. I want people of Kebbi State to be sleeping with their two eyes closed, God willing. That's why we're providing logistics to security agencies to safeguard lives and property."
The vehicles will serve areas including Makera, Kalgo, Ambursa, and Badariya. The governor thanked security agencies for their efforts against crime, acknowledging their role in maintaining state security.
Squadron Commander ACP Aliyu Abubakar Jega assured judicious use of the vehicles, promising adequate security in allocated areas. "We appreciate this gesture and call on personnel to be proactive in discharging their duties diligently," he said.
The donation underscores the government's focus on bolstering security infrastructure to protect citizens and curb criminality.
