The First Lady of Kebbi State, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, has launched an initiative to combat malnutrition among children in the state. The initiative involves the distribution of 10,000 bags of nutritious food, equivalent to Tombrown, to various locations across the state. The event was held at the Primary Health Care Center in Alelu, Jega Local Government Area.
The nutritious food is specially packaged for children suffering from micronutrient deficiency, and the initiative aims to provide them with the necessary nutrients to improve their health and well-being. The First Lady emphasized the state government's commitment to addressing the issue of malnutrition deficiency among children. "The state government will not relent in its efforts to provide good governance and improve the lives of the people," she assured.
Hajiya Zainab also urged women to learn how to properly prepare nutritious food to improve their children's health. The Chairman of Jega Local Government, Alhaji Shehu Umar Jega, thanked the First Lady for choosing Jega to launch this initiative and assured her of the people's political support for the present administration.
The traditional leader of the area, Kararan Alelu, Alhaji Husaini Marafa, thanked the wife of the governor for her various initiatives and support to his people in the area. He also bestowed a traditional title of "Gatan Matan Gabas ta Jega" on the First Lady of Kebbi State.
The distribution is part of the government's effort to combat malnutrition among children and improve their health and well-being. The initiative is expected to benefit thousands of children across the state who suffer from micronutrient deficiency.
