"Armed Forces Command, Staff College Launches Exercise HASKE BIYU 2025"

The Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) Nigeria has announced the commencement of Exercise HASKE BIYU 2025, a national problem-solving platform focused on resolving national security issues using a whole-of-society approach. The exercise's theme is "Family and National Security," highlighting the critical role that family units play in maintaining national stability and security.

The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, will grace the opening ceremony as the Special Guest of Honor, reaffirming the importance of family in national security. The exercise brings together senior officers from various security agencies and stakeholders to enhance their collective knowledge and understanding of military operations other than war.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Olumide Victor Olukoya, College Public Relations Officer, the exercise provides a forum for research, brainstorming, and exercising to come up with actionable solutions to contemporary national security issues. Participants will engage in discussions and presentations on conflict resolution and management mechanisms, focusing on the use of soft power as an effective tool for terminating conflicts.

The exercise will feature an innovative special highlight, "A Day in the Life of a Soldier," which offers the media and select non-military participants a firsthand experience of military life. This exercise aims to enhance inter-agency collaboration required to address contemporary security challenges in Nigeria.

The 3-week event, scheduled to take place in Jaji Military Cantonment from September 15 to October 3, 2025, will be conducted with student officers of Senior Course 47 drawn from services of the armed forces of Nigeria, ministries, departments, and agencies, the media, non-governmental organizations, and other strategic partners.
