Maje Jumu’at Mosque Commissioned, Kebbi Gov Pledges Road, Military Support

The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has formally commissioned a state-of-the-art mosque in Maje, a border town in Bagudo Local Government Area. The newly constructed mosque, a generous gift from Hon. Bello Abubakar Kaoje, the federal lawmaker representing Suru/Bagudo constituency, was unveiled on Friday amidst jubilation from local residents.

During his address, Governor Idris expressed profound gratitude to the people of Maje for their warm hospitality and praised Hon. Kaoje for his philanthropic efforts. "We appreciate the warm welcome extended to us by the people of this community and commend the lawmaker for his commitment to serving his constituents," he said.

The Governor disclosed that his administration is poised to undertake a major reconstruction project on the Kaoje-Maje Road, a vital international route connecting Nigeria to the Republic of Benin. He also revealed plans to establish a military base in the area to enhance security and combat insecurity. "Our administration is working tirelessly to improve infrastructure and security, and the reconstruction of this road and the establishment of a military base are key components of our strategy," he stated.

Earlier, Hon. Bello Abubakar Kaoje expressed gratitude to Governor Idris for gracing the occasion. "The community requested that we build a mosque to serve their spiritual needs, and we are delighted to have fulfilled this request," he said.

The commissioning ceremony was followed by the Jumu’at prayer, attended by community leaders, government officials, and worshippers, marking a significant milestone in Maje's development and underscoring the Kebbi State government's commitment to improving citizens' lives.
