"Kebbi Women Benefit from Renewed Hope Initiative, Receive ₦50,000 Grants"

The Renewed Hope Initiative, a flagship program aimed at empowering Nigerians, has partnered with the Tony Elumelu Foundation to launch the Women’s Economic Empowerment Programme in Kebbi State. As part of this initiative, 500 women across Kebbi State have received business grants to support and grow their small-scale ventures.

The First Lady of Kebbi State, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, who doubles as the State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative, supervised the disbursement on behalf of the Nigerian First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu. Each beneficiary received ₦50,000 to boost their business.

"It is not a loan; it is a renewed seed that enables you to invest in your business to make it more sustainable," Hajiya Zainab said during the disbursement. "We encourage you to view this grant as a stepping stone to meaningful entrepreneurship."

The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Professor Halima Muhammad Bande, thanked the Nigerian First Lady for the initiative, noting that this is the 8th initiative under the Renewed Hope Initiative in Kebbi State. "We urge the beneficiaries to make proper use of the grant given to them," she said.

The State APC Women's Leader, Hajiya Aisha Gunabi, also urged beneficiaries to utilize the grant effectively to improve their livelihood. "We call on the people to continue supporting the present administration led by the APC government in order to achieve more dividends of democracy," she added.

The Women’s Economic Empowerment Programme targets 500 women in each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, aiming to help women traders and small-scale business owners recapitalize, provide for their families, educate their children, and uplift their communities.
