In a significant move underscoring his administration's commitment to worker welfare, Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has sanctioned a staggering ₦1,144,428,745.74 for the settlement of gratuities and death benefits. This decisive action reaffirms the governor's pledge to prioritize the well-being of state employees and pensioners.
Details of the payment reveal that the approved funds are destined for retired state and contract staff, as well as local government and Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) personnel. The payment window spans from December 16, 2024, to March 15, 2025, with 445 individuals set to benefit from the initiative.
This latest development is a testament to Governor Idris's tireless efforts to ensure that workers and their families receive the support they deserve. By clearing these entitlements, the governor is demonstrating his commitment to upholding the dignity of state employees, both past and present.
According to the press release, Governor Idris reiterated his administration's resolve to ensure that all beneficiaries receive their entitlements without exception. "Governor Idris, who has consistently emphasized the importance of dignity in labour and reward for service, reiterated his administration's dedication to ensuring that no beneficiary is left behind in the collection of his/her entitlements," the statement read.
