"KEBBI FIRST LADY URGES FIDA TO STEP UP CAMPAIGN AGAINST GBV"

The First Lady of Kebbi State, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, has called on the Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Kebbi State Chapter to step up their efforts in combating Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in the state.

 The First Lady made this call during a courtesy visit by FIDA to her office at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi. According to her, collective efforts are necessary to reduce GBV to a bare minimum in the state. She urged FIDA to continue their good work in providing free legal support to victims of GBV.

The First Lady expressed her administration's commitment to supporting FIDA's initiatives and collaborating with them to address GBV and other women's issues in the state. This commitment underscores the government's determination to promote women's welfare and empowerment.

 Earlier, the FIDA chairperson, Barrister Hauwa Usman, had pledged the group's support and loyalty to the present administration. She sought collaboration with the office of the First Lady in the area of women's development and commended the First Lady's initiatives and activities in the state.

 Barrister Usman highlighted FIDA's activities in providing legal support to victims of GBV, ensuring they access justice. The visit demonstrates FIDA's commitment to partnering with the government to promote women's rights and empowerment in Kebbi State.
