"INEC, NOA Collaborate on PVC Registration in Kebbi State"

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kebbi State have agreed to collaborate on a sensitization and enlightenment campaign to encourage Nigerians to register for Permanent Voters' Cards (PVCs). The agreement was reached during a courtesy visit by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Abubakar Sarkin Pawa Dambo, to the state Director of NOA, Malam Nasir Karofi, in Birnin Kebbi on Monday.

According to Dambo, the commission is seeking to partner with NOA to disseminate information and sensitize Nigerians on the ongoing PVC online and face-to-face registration exercise. "We want Nigerians to massively register, but those who are eligible and don't acquire PVC," he said.

Dambo explained that the commission had found it necessary to pay a courtesy visit to key stakeholders in the state, including NOA, to strengthen their working relationship. "We want to collaborate with NOA Kebbi state office to assist the commission in sensitizing and disseminating information about the ongoing online PVC and face-to-face registration to our designated centers or local government offices," he added.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner also noted that the commission would allow those who lost, misplaced, or had their PVCs burnt to obtain another one through the commission's online portal. He also encouraged those who wanted to transfer their PVCs from one polling unit to another to visit the commission's office or online portal.

In response, the state Director of NOA, Malam Nasir Karofi, expressed his agency's readiness to partner with INEC. "We are already sensitizing Nigerians on the ongoing PVC registration exercise, but we will do more to educate them on the importance of acquiring PVC and coming out to cast their votes," he said.

Karofi thanked the Resident Electoral Commissioner for the courtesy visit and pledged NOA's continued support to INEC. "We appreciate the good working relationship between our two organizations, and we will continue to support INEC in all its activities," he added.
