"Banditry Fight: IGP Deploys More Armored Vehicles to Kebbi, Governor Commends Initiative"

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has deployed two additional Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs) to Kebbi State to enhance the fight against banditry. The vehicles were formally presented to Governor Nasir Idris by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Muhammad Sani, at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi on Monday.

Governor Idris hailed the deployment as a significant milestone in the state's efforts to tackle security challenges, particularly in areas plagued by banditry. "If you recall, not long ago, the Police authorities under the IGP, alongside the military, deployed Armored Personnel Carriers to Kebbi State, we remain grateful," the Governor stated. He emphasized that the additional vehicles would complement the existing ones and provide much-needed security to protect farmers from bandit attacks during the rainy season.

The Governor expressed his administration's unwavering commitment to supporting security agencies in the state, while appreciating the IGP and the Police Headquarters for the timely deployment. "The vehicles have arrived at a crucial time, with the rainy season and farming activities at their peak," he added.

The Commissioner of Police, Sani Bello, later took the Governor on a tour of the vehicles for inspection. The deployment is seen as a boost to the state's security architecture, and the people of Kebbi are expected to benefit from the enhanced security measures.

In his statement, the governor said, the  deployment demonstrates the IGP's commitment to addressing security challenges in the state. The additional vehicles are expected to enhance the mobility and effectiveness of security personnel in the state, particularly in areas prone to banditry.
