On Friday, the Technical Working Group (TWG) on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) paid a visit to Kamba Town, Dandi Local Government Area, Kebbi State, to present donations to Alhaji Kabiru Sinkin Kamba, the adoptive father of an abandoned baby girl, Hafsat Kabir.
The TWG on GBV delegation, led by Hajiya Rafaatu Hammani, who represented Her Excellency Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, wife of the Kebbi State Governor and Chairperson of TWG on GBV in the state, was warmly received by local officials, including the Director of Social Development and the Kamba Ward Councillor.
During the visit, the group emphasized their commitment to supporting baby Hafsat and ensuring justice. "We are committed to ensuring justice for baby Hafsat and bringing the perpetrators to book," Comrade Nasiru Idris, Secretary of the TWG on GBV, stated during the visit.
The donations, which included cash, food items, and baby essentials, were made possible through the efforts of the TWG on GBV and generous support from key stakeholders, including Prof. Halima Bande and Hajiya Aishatu Maikurata.
Hajiya Rafaatu Hammani officially handed over the donations to Alhaji Kabiru, who expressed immense gratitude for the support. "We will continue to stand firm in our mission to protect the rights of women and children," Hajiya Rafaatu Hammani said.
The Local Government Council Chairman appreciated the TWG's efforts and pledged to continuously monitor baby Hafsat's development. The visit concluded with prayers led by Bashar Musa, invoking Allah's protection, guidance, and blessings for baby Hafsat and all contributors.
The TWG on GBV remains dedicated to supporting those in need and protecting the most vulnerable in society.
