Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has appointed Alhaji Abdulwahab Mohammed, a seasoned journalist and former staff member of the Hausa Service of the Voice of America (VOA), as his Senior Special Assistant on Communication.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was announced in a press release issued on Friday by Mukhtar Gidado, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor. According to the release, Alhaji Abdulwahab Mohammed brings decades of experience in both national and international media to his new role.
"His appointment reflects Governor Bala Mohammed’s commitment to strengthening the state’s communication framework and enhancing government engagement with the public," the statement read. Abdulwahab, known for his objectivity and dedication, is expected to play a pivotal role in projecting the state government's policies and programmes, fostering public awareness, and promoting good governance.
In a congratulatory message, Governor Bala Mohammed said, "I urge him to bring his vast expertise to bear in advancing the administration’s vision of a more informed and inclusive society."
