The final batch of Nigerian pilgrims has touched down in Kaduna, marking the culmination of the 2025 Hajj return operations. The flight, which carried 87 pilgrims, landed on Tuesday morning, July 2, 2025, after departing Jeddah's King Abdulaziz International Airport at 10:30 a.m.
Professor Abdullah Saleh Usman, Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), led the farewell ceremony for the pilgrims. He expressed profound gratitude to Almighty Allah for the successful completion of the Hajj season. "We thank Allah for granting us the opportunity to perform this year's Hajj and for the safe return of our pilgrims," he said.
The NAHCON Chairman highlighted the importance of the Hajj pilgrimage, noting that it is not only a spiritual journey but also an opportunity to build bridges of understanding and brotherhood. "Hajj is a chance to forge lasting bonds and cultivate a sense of unity and solidarity among Muslims," he emphasized.
Professor Usman commended the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders, including state pilgrims' boards, airline operators, and service providers, for their role in ensuring the success of the Hajj operations. He also praised the pilgrims for their discipline and obedience, which contributed significantly to the smooth execution of the return operations.
The Chairman urged the returning pilgrims to continue praying for Nigeria, especially during these challenging times. "As you return home, remember to pray for the progress and prosperity of our great nation," he said. He also encouraged the pilgrims to sustain the spirit of unity and friendship they built during the Hajj.
The successful conclusion of the return operations marks the end of a significant spiritual journey for the pilgrims. NAHCON's commitment to delivering improved Hajj services was reaffirmed by top officials, including Commissioner of Operations, Prince Anofiu Elegushi; Commission Secretary, Dr. Mustapha Alli; and Special Assistant to the President on Hajj, Ameen Amshi.
This year's Hajj saw thousands of Nigerian pilgrims complete their spiritual obligations in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, with NAHCON coordinating logistics, transportation, and accommodation. The Commission's efforts ensured a smooth and successful Hajj season, and the safe return of the pilgrims.
