"NUKESS Election Process Kicks Off in Birnin Kebbi"

The National Union of Kebbi State Students (NUKESS) is set to elect its new leaders, with delegates from various tertiary institutions across the federation converging at the College of Nursing Sciences in Birnin Kebbi for accreditation and voting.

According to the Chairman of the Convention and Planning Committee, Ahmed Jafar, "The preparation is ongoing, and right now, accreditation of delegates is ongoing alongside the election to the office of the president, which has three contestants."

Jafar explained that the election process is being witnessed by journalists, security agencies, Ministry of Higher Education representatives, and observers from all the tertiary institutions concerned. "Journalists, security agencies, and Ministry of Higher Education representatives and observers from all the tertiary institutions concerned are in presence to witness the election," he stated.

The delegates are expected to vote for leaders of 13 offices. Jafar disclosed that five universities with the highest number of students are expected to bring five delegates each, while other institutions are to present two delegates each. The universities with five delegates each are Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK), Kebbi State University of Science and Technology Aliero (KESTA), Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic Birnin Kebbi (WUFPBK), Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS), and College of Education Argungu (COE Arg). Other institutions are expected to bring two delegates each.

Jafar assured that the election process is being conducted in a transparent and fair manner, with all necessary measures in place to ensure the security and integrity of the process
