In a closely contested election, AHIJO Saidu Bakuwai has been declared the winner of the National Union of Kebbi State Students (NUKESS) presidential election. Bakuwai, a 400-level student from the Department of Medicine and Surgery at Federal University Birnin Kebbi, secured 29 votes, while his closest opponent, Anas Umar Faruk from Kebbi State University of Science and Technology Aliero, polled 27 votes.

The declaration was made by the Chairman of the Convention and Planning Committee, Ahmed Jafar, after the conclusion of the sorting and counting of votes in the presence of security agencies, journalists, and agents of all the candidates.
