The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested five suspects in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy, theft, receiving stolen property, and money laundering. The suspects, identified as Nura Abdullahi, Nura Muhammad, Bashar Abubakar, Sanusi Bojo, and Aliyu Muhammad, were arrested following a swift investigation by the State Criminal Investigation Department.

According to a press release signed by CSP Nafiu Abubakar, Police Public Relations Officer, the arrests were made after Springfield Agro Limited, a Lagos-based company, reported that its consignment of 1925 cartons of Roundup 360XL Herbicide, valued at N184,800,000, had been unlawfully diverted to Birnin Kebbi without the company's authorization.
The police investigation revealed that the truck driver, Alhaji Bala, now at large, had diverted the consignment to Birnin Kebbi and sold it to unregistered dealers at significantly reduced prices. The detectives successfully recovered the sum of N4,905,000, proceeds from the illicit sale, and 1562 cartons of Roundup 360XL Herbicide as exhibits.

The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M. Sani, applauded the professionalism and swiftness of the detectives. "The police command is determined to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent similar cases of theft and money laundering in the state," he said, urging the detectives to intensify efforts in tracing and arresting the company's driver, Alhaji Bala, and another suspect, Alhaji Danladi Maitaki AKA Danbatta, who are still at large.

The CP has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, SCID, to conduct a discreet investigation and ensure diligent prosecution of the suspects.
