"Kogi Kidnapping: Security Agencies Successfully Rescue Three Victims"

A joint operation by the Nigeria Police Force, the Army, and Fulani Vigilantes has resulted in the rescue of three kidnapped victims in the Ankomi forest, Kogi State. The operatives, attached to the Obajana Division of the Nigeria Police Force, conducted a raid operation that led to a gun duel with the kidnappers, forcing them to abandon their victims and flee with gunshot injuries.

According to the Police Spokesman, Kogi State Command, SP William Aya, the victims were rescued unhurt. "Due to the superior firepower of the joint security team, the hoodlums abandoned their victims and fled with gunshot injuries," he said.

The victims, identified as Musa Abdullahi from Mangu LGA of Plateau State, Abdulazeez Adamu from Okene, Kogi State, and Yusuf Ibrahim from Zaria Local Government, Kaduna State, were abducted on May 15, 2025, from a vehicle and a trailer along Osara road while traveling from Ekpoma in Edo State to Jos, Plateau State.

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Miller Dantawaye, commended the joint security team for their bravery and outstanding performance during the operation. "The Command is ever determined, in collaboration with other security agencies, to rid the state of all forms of crimes and criminality," he said. Dantawaye also urged residents of the adjoining communities to be vigilant and report anyone seeking medical attention in the nearby area to the nearest security formation.

The successful rescue operation is a testament to the commitment of the security agencies to protect the lives and property of citizens in Kogi State.
