The First Lady of Kebbi State, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, has reaffirmed her commitment to supporting grassroots initiatives promoting healthier communities in Kebbi State. She participated in the Nigeria Governors' Spouses Forum (NGSF) – National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Community Drug Prevention Programme held on Tuesday, at the TY Buratai Hall, Army War College, WU Bassey Barracks, Asokoro, Abuja.
The capacity-building session, organized in collaboration with NDLEA, aimed to enhance understanding of the National Drug Control Framework and bolster advocacy for a drug-free society, particularly among women, youth, and vulnerable communities. Hajia Zainab emphasized the importance of advocacy and community empowerment in combating drug abuse and pledged to intensify awareness campaigns and intervention programs statewide.
During the program, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brig. Gen. Muhammad Buba Marwa (Rtd), presented a certificate of participation to the First Lady of Kebbi State. This gesture underscores the agency's recognition of Hajiya Zainab's commitment to promoting a drug-free society.
Hajiya Zainab's participation in the program demonstrates her dedication to addressing the scourge of drug abuse in Kebbi State. Her efforts are expected to have a positive impact on the lives of the state's residents, particularly the youth, who are often vulnerable to the dangers of substance abuse.
