"Bauchi Coalition Seeks Support for Senator Jika's 2027 Governorship Ambition"

By Khalid Idris Doya

A Coalition of Concerned People of Bauchi has appealed to the entire people of the state, particularly the youth and women, to embrace Senator Halliru Dauda Jika in the collective quest to see him become the Governor of the state in the 2027 elections. The coalition also requested the support of the incumbent Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, in the project.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday in Bauchi, the chairman of the coalition, Hon Ahmed Yero, urged the press to perform its constitutional duties of spreading the information from top to bottom for the state to enjoy the potentials that Senator Halliru Dauda Jika contained in his heart and blueprint, which are poised to take Bauchi state to greater heights.

"We thought that Senator Jika has the necessary qualities to lead Bauchi state in 2027," Yero said. "With a deep sense of responsibility and accountability, we believe that, at this time in the history of our dear state, and without prejudice to all other governorship aspirants, Senator Jika is equal to the tasks."

Yero traced Jika's past records from 2007, where he was elected as a member representing Ganjuwa West Bauchi State House of Assembly and later elected as Speaker by his colleagues. Jika later contested for the Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency and was elected as a member of the Federal House of Representatives.

"Jika was also appointed to serve as Chairman of the House Committee on Police Affairs for a complete tenure from 2015 to 2019," Yero added. "Based on his abilities to prove himself as a good representative, his people decided to promote him to the rank of Senator Bauchi Central Senatorial district, which comprises six LGAs."

The coalition sampled people's opinions and found that the majority supported Jika's qualification to aspire to the governorship of Bauchi state. "We sampled people's opinions, and our findings returned positive, supporting his qualification to aspire to the governorship of Bauchi state, even though he contested in 2023, but this time Bauchi people really want him as their next governor," Yaro explained.

The coalition has written to various stakeholders across party lines in the state, royal fathers as custodians of traditional institutions, and religious leaders all over the state to seek their indulgence, support, and prayer. Yero emphasized that the coalition is confident that Jika has the potential to take Bauchi state to greater heights.

"We believe that Senator Jika has the necessary qualities to lead Bauchi state in 2027, and we urge the people of Bauchi to support him in his quest to become the next governor of the state," Yero concluded.
