"2 Years in Office: Kebbi Permanent Secretary Lauds Governor Nasir's Performance"

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hajiya Aisha Muhammad Maikurata, has lauded Governor Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu's administration for its remarkable achievements within two years in office. In an interview with Series Online on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi, Maikurata highlighted some of the notable projects executed by the ministry under the governor's leadership.

"We have never had it like this present administration of Governor Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu for project execution, welfare of people, empowerment, and infrastructural development in both rural and urban areas," Maikurata said. "Almost all the ministries got new brand vehicles purchased and distributed to them as official vehicles just to enhance their day-to-day operational duties."

Maikurata joined the good people of the state in celebrating the governor's two years in office and the projects executed in various sectors, including health, education, security, and agriculture. "We are commending him for having his people at heart as well as delivering on his mandate," she said.

The Permanent Secretary enumerated some of the achievements recorded in her ministry during Kauran Gwandu's administration, including the renovation/rehabilitation of four Emirs' palaces in Gwandu, Argungu, Yauri, and Zuru. Other achievements include the procurement and donation of new brand vehicles to the Emirs, rehabilitation of District Head official residences, seminars and workshops for LG chairmen and councillors, and prompt payment of salaries and benefits.

Additionally, Maikurata highlighted the establishment of a law for primary and secondary teachers on years of service and age of retirement, recent appointment of new LGAs Administrative Secretaries, approval for priority projects to all 21 LGAs chairmen, renovation/rehabilitation of 21 LGAs secretariat councils, and training workshops for LG finance staff on financial management and modern record-keeping.

Maikurata expressed the ministry's appreciation for the governor's leadership and called on the people of Kebbi State to continue supporting him and grant him a second term in office. "Considering his performance over the past two years, I think he deserves another term," she said.
