Kebbi State Student Leaders Back Governor Nasir Idris on Security Measures

Student leaders in Kebbi State have expressed their unwavering support for Governor Nasir Idris's administration, particularly in addressing security concerns. The students' endorsement follows the successful rescue of a Federal University Birnin Kebbi student, Augustine Madubiya, who was kidnapped and later freed without any ransom paid.

This development demonstrates Governor Idris's commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents, especially students. The student leaders commended the governor's swift response and coordination of the rescue operation, which involved the Commissioner of Police, CP Bello M. Sani, Vice Chancellor of FUBK, Professor Muhammad Zaiyan Umar, and security operatives.

"We commend His Excellency for ensuring that security remains a top priority and for the solid coordination of this operation under his watch," the student leaders stated.

They also extended their appreciation to key stakeholders, including Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, for his strategic coordination and continuous backing of the security architecture.

The student leaders further commended the Director of Security, Alhaji Abdulrahman Usman Zagga, a vibrant youth and symbol of inclusive leadership, whose appointment and results confirm the wisdom of giving opportunities to capable young people.

The student leaders also acknowledged the governor's appointment of Hon. Muhammad Muhammad Majo, a former unionist, as Special Adviser on Student Affairs, seeing this as a testament to his administration's dedication to inclusive leadership.

"His Excellency's decision to elevate a student leader to this key position shows he is not just a leader of the people, but a lifelong leader of students," the student leaders stated.

The student leaders concluded by passing a vote of confidence on Governor Idris's administration, pledging their full support and encouraging all stakeholders to work together to build a safer, stronger, and more inclusive Kebbi State.
