The wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris, has expressed satisfaction with the harmonious relationship between the Igbo community and their hosts in the state. Her sentiments were expressed during her investiture as the accepted mother of the Igbo community in Kebbi, a ceremony that signifies the community's appreciation for her benevolence.

Hajiya Nafisa urged the Igbo community to feel at home, emphasizing that Kebbi is a land of equity where everyone is treated as a friend and brother. "There is no distinction or preference between Muslims and Christians," she assured. Hajiya Nafisa also highlighted her commitment to providing support and assistance to women and children through her foundation, NANAS FOUNDATION. This initiative aims to empower the Igbo community, including widows and married women, in the state.
The NANAS FOUNDATION's empowerment schemes are part of a broader effort to uplift the lives of Kebbi's residents. This aligns with the state government's initiatives to boost agriculture, with 36,800 hectares of land dedicated to farming activities. The state government has also expended enormous amounts on procurement of fertilizers, solar and CNG-powered water pumps, and other agricultural inputs to strengthen agricultural production.

The Chairlady of the Igbo Women Community Development Association, Mrs. Flora Nwafor, commended Hajiya Nafisa for her dedication to improving the lives of widows, children, and other communities. Mrs. Nwafor praised the Governor's wife, saying, "You are an acceptable mother full of grace, resilience, strength, compassion, and impact."

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Non-Indigene Matters, Chief Osita, acknowledged Governor Nasir Idris's efforts in infrastructural and socioeconomic development in Kebbi. He noted that the Governor recently provided Igbo widows with bags of rice to celebrate Christmas, demonstrating his administration's commitment to supporting all residents.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Yahaya Sarki, lauded Governor Nasir Idris's achievements since taking office. Sarki described the Governor's scorecard as "excellent with distinction," highlighting the transformation of Birnin Kebbi into a modern cosmopolitan city. The ongoing urban and rural development aims to make Kebbi a land of abundance, prosperity, peace, and security.
