Gov Ododo, Minister of Information Hail Kogi’s Annual Media Report

The Kogi State Government's pioneering Annual Media Performance Report has garnered widespread acclaim from stakeholders, including government officials, media professionals, and communication experts. Covering media coverage from January 2024 to January 2025, the comprehensive report is hailed as a milestone in promoting transparency, accountability, and strategic communication in governance.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo expressed pride in the report, emphasizing its significance in showcasing his administration's commitment to open governance. "This initiative represents a significant step toward building a brighter future for the state through effective communication and governance," he stated in the report's foreword. The Governor highlighted the crucial role of clear and accessible communication in fostering public trust, noting that the report serves as both a record of achievements and a tool for engaging the people of Kogi in a meaningful and transparent manner.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, commended the report, citing its critical role in tracking government activities and informing decision-making. "This approach will help the government identify the most effective platforms for promoting its initiatives and recognize areas where improvements may be needed," Idris said, praising Ismaila Isah, Special Adviser on Media, and his team for their exceptional work.

Other stakeholders who lauded the report include Mrs. Folashade Arike Ayoade, Secretary to the Government of Kogi State; Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, Commissioner for Information and Communications; Hajia Zainab Suleiman Okino, former Commissioner for Information; Professor Abiodun Adeniyi, Registrar of Baze University; and Ademu Seidu Haruna, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kogi State Council.

These stakeholders emphasized the report's significance in promoting transparency and accountability, documenting the administration's impact, and ensuring that future generations have access to accurate records of the state's progress.
