The New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) Northeast zonal leadership has strongly condemned attempts by expelled party members to mislead the public about a recent court ruling. According to the party, these individuals are trying to twist the court's decision for their own gain.
At a meeting in Bauchi, the NNPP zonal vice chairman, Hon. Sabo Imam Gashuwa, reaffirmed the party's current leadership as the legitimate authority, registered with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He urged party members in the North-East to remain disciplined, united, and focused, saying, "Our zone continues to grow stronger and gain public support, and we will not allow distractions or sponsored propaganda to derail our progress."
Gashuwa emphasized the party's commitment to defending its integrity and advancing internal democracy, transparency, and grassroots mobilization. "No attempt to hijack or destabilize the party will succeed under our watch," he added.
The NNPP leadership assured supporters that the party remains united under the national leadership of Engr. Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. They urged the public to disregard the actions of expelled individuals and continue supporting the party.
The party's communique, signed by state chairmen from Gombe, Adamawa, Borno, Yobe, Taraba, and Bauchi, reaffirmed their loyalty to Kwankwaso and commitment to National Chairman Dr. Ajuji Ahmed. The communique stated, "We stand in full alignment with the recent press release of the NNPP National Secretariat regarding the ruling of the FCT High Court."
The meeting emphasized that the court's decision did not invalidate the existing Federal High Court judgment upholding the expulsion of certain party members, including Boniface Aniebonam, Major Agbo, and Olaposi Oginni. The NNPP Northeast zone, comprising six states, urged members to remain focused and united, stressing that the party's progress will not be derailed by distractions or propaganda.
