Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has appointed veteran journalist Umar Mohammed Shira as the new Managing Director of Bauchi Radio Corporation (BRC). The appointment, announced on Monday by the Governor's media aide, Mukhtar Gidado, takes immediate effect.
According to Gidado, Governor Mohammed's decision reflects his confidence in Shira's leadership abilities, extensive experience, and dedication to the media and communications sector. "As a seasoned professional with a proven track record in media management and broadcasting, Shira is well-equipped to reposition BRC for greater efficiency, professionalism, and public service excellence," the statement read.
Governor Mohammed expressed confidence that Shira will leverage his expertise to enhance BRC's role as a credible source of information, education, and entertainment for Bauchi State and beyond. The state government has urged all staff and stakeholders of BRC to support Shira in improving the station's operations and service delivery.
