Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, announced on Monday that the state government has purchased 300 truckloads of assorted food items for free Ramadan feeding to the people. The governor made this announcement in Birnin Kebbi during the final lap of his thank-you visit to the 21 local government areas of the state.
According to Governor Idris, this gesture is part of his administration's policy thrust to provide succour and uplift the living standard of all communities. "I am immensely thankful to the people of Birnin Kebbi and the rest of the state for your unflinching support to me," he said.
The governor reiterated his commitment to providing essential services to the people, stating, "As long as I remain the Governor, my administration will continue to provide grains to the people free, fertilizer to farmers free, while substantially, education will remain free." He also highlighted the increase in school feeding funds to N300 million monthly, aimed at providing good meals to students and encouraging them to focus on their studies.
Governor Idris emphasized his dedication to running an open and inclusive government, ensuring every section of the state has a sense of belonging. "Already, I have appointed more than 6000 Special Advisers and Assistants to serve as an all-encompassing governance," he noted. The governor also pledged to accelerate urban and rural transformation, including the construction of access roads to facilitate the movement of farm produce.
