Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has assured members of opposition parties who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) of equal treatment. The governor gave this assurance on Monday while receiving defectors from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and other political parties at the Birnin Kebbi Local Government Secretariat in Birnin Kebbi.
Speaking at a rally to conclude his thank-you tour to 21 local government areas of the state, Governor Idris advised the new members to feel at home and work collaboratively with existing members to promote the party's progress. He emphasized that his administration has initiated various developmental projects across the state, aiming to bring positive growth, development, and a sense of belonging to all.
"We have embarked on different developmental projects across the state to bring positive growth and development, apart from giving all a sense of belonging," Governor Idris said. "We will continue to execute more projects that have a direct bearing on the lives of our people."
Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru, APC Chairman in Kebbi State, echoed the governor's sentiments, stating that both new and old members of the party would be treated equally. He solicited support and cooperation from all individuals to enable the governor to deliver democratic dividends to all areas of the state.
Earlier, Alhaji Sani Bello, APC Chairman of Birnin Kebbi Local Government, praised Governor Idris for transforming the state. He appealed to the governor to sustain his efforts for the benefit of the people and the state as a whole.
