"Wives of Ooni, Bauchi Gov Distribute Aid to Needy"

The Almuhibbah Foundation, in collaboration with Olori Temitope Enitan Ogunwusi, wife of the Ooni of Ife, has distributed special food packages to over 60 malnourished children and provided over 40 bags of baby kits to newborns in Bauchi. This initiative is part of the activities marking Valentine's Day, a day dedicated to love and care for the less privileged.

Speaking at the distribution ceremony at Specialist Hospital, Bauchi, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, founder of Almuhibbah Foundation, said, "Valentine's Day is about love, and this initiative allows us to touch the lives of children and their families in Bauchi." She emphasized that the food packages are meant to ensure malnourished children receive essential nourishment for healthy growth.

Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed noted that the baby kits symbolize a collective commitment to ensuring newborns have necessary essentials for a healthy start in life. She highlighted Almuhibbah Foundation's dedication to improving healthcare and well-being across Nigeria, particularly in underserved communities.

The foundation has provided free consultations, treatments, and health education to over 15,000 people, and more than 1,000 people have had their sight restored through life-changing eye surgeries. Additionally, the foundation has donated ambulances to health centers in Abuja and Bauchi, ensuring quick response to medical emergencies.

Olori Temitope Enitan Ogunwusi commended the initiative, emphasizing that Valentine's Day is a perfect occasion to extend love to those in need, particularly women and children who require support. "There is no love without action. We have brought these gifts to celebrate babies born in this season of love. This initiative is being carried out simultaneously across the country in our little way," she added.

The initiative is also aligned with the National Policy on Food and Nutrition in Nigeria, which aims to improve the health and well-being of citizens, particularly vulnerable groups. Access to adequate food and nutrition is crucial for maintaining good health, dignity, and well-being.

In another development, the Bauchi State Action Committee on Gender-Based Violence, established by Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, has been working tirelessly to address cases of violence against women in the state. The committee was formed in response to the increasing cases of rape and violence against women, with the goal of providing support and protection to victims.

The committee has achieved significant success in raising awareness about sexual and gender-based violence, which has led to a reduction in the menace. Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed has called on women to support any move that will ensure their protection and encouraged them to rise up and face the challenges hampering their development.
