As part of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Agriculture Support Program, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, Wife of the Kebbi State Governor, has empowered 100 women farmers in Yauri with rice seedlings, fertilizer, and pesticides. This donation complements the N100,000 cash grant donated by Senator Oluremi Tinubu, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, in Yauri Local Government Area.
Hajiya Zainab Nasare advised the beneficiaries to remain active participants in agricultural activities, emphasizing the importance of food security and economic prosperity. "I urge all of you to sustain home gardens and farming by growing a variety of crops and fruits for family nourishment and income generation to become self-reliant," she said.
Each beneficiary received rice seedlings, fertilizer, pesticides, and N100,000 cash. Hajiya Zainab Nasare advised the beneficiaries to utilize the donated resources effectively.
Alhaji Yakubu Muhammad, State Coordinator of the Nigerian For Women Project, commended Hajiya Zainab for her practical demonstration of home gardening, which inspired other women in the state.
Hajiya Hadiza Kola, State Chairperson of Women in Agriculture, advised people, especially women farmers, to prioritize farming and home gardening. "Women farmers should sustain home gardens and rice farming to enable them generate income for themselves and be self-reliant," she said.
Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Dan Kawu, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, praised Hajiya Zainab for her efforts to improve agricultural production in Kebbi State.
Alhaji Abubakar Shuiabu (Kauran Yauri), Local Government Chairman, thanked Hajiya Zainab for her gesture and reaffirmed their support and loyalty to the present administration of Governor Nasir Idris.
