Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has expressed confidence in the timely completion of the ongoing reconstruction of the 87-kilometer Koko-Dabai Road. The Governor made this disclosure to journalists after inspecting the road project on his way back to Birnin Kebbi from Yauri, where he attended the 2025 Rigatta culture and festival.
During the inspection, Governor Idris stated, "What we have seen today has given us confidence that, by the Grace of God, the contractors will finish the work ahead of schedule." He reassured that the state government is committed to funding the project, which is expected to be completed within 18 months at a cost of N64 billion.
The Governor emphasized the importance of transparency, saying, "We believe in the rule of law and transparency, any company that has completed its documentation will receive its due payment after passing the required process." He also noted that both federal and state engineers are actively supervising the project to ensure quality adherence.
Governor Idris pledged that his administration, alongside the Speaker of the State Assembly and APC leaders, would continue routine inspections to ensure timely and quality standard delivery of the road project. This assurance comes after the Governor attended the climax of the 2025 Yauri Annual Rigatta and Cultural Festival in Yauri.
