Vice President Kashim Shettima was the Special Guest of Honour at the wedding ceremony of three couples at the ABDULLAHI Fodiyo Emir Palace, Birnin Kebbi, on Saturday. As the Waliy (Guardian) to Sadiyya Bello Ka'oje, the daughter of Hon. Bello Ka'oje, Member, House of Representatives, Bagudo/Suru Constituency, Kebbi State, Sen. Shettima gave out her hand in marriage to Zaharadeen Faruq Bala, on the payment of N300,000 dowry.
"My name is Kashim Shettima, I am the Waliy to Sadiyya Bello Ka'oje, I've given out her hand in marriage to Zaharadeen Faruq Bala as requested by his Wakil on the payment of three hundred thousand naira cash down," the Vice President said. "I am praying to GOD to shower HIS BLESSINGS on them with good health, longevity and good offsprings, peace and security for our nation."
The Vice President also presided over the wedding ceremony of Yusra Bala Bawa to Hussaini Adamu Hussaini, the son of a popular Contractor, ZBBC, after N300,000 cash down was paid as dowry. Governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto State performed the role of Wakil (representative) to both bridegrooms, accepting the Islamic stipulations governing marriage and seeking the permission of the Vice President to legalize the Nikkah, on the Sunnah of the Noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, gave out Hadiza Aliyu's hand in marriage to Nafi'u Zaki after Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State forwarded the request for marriage, on the payment of N200,000 dowry cash down, in consonance with Islamic Jurisprudence.
The Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar, Maj-Gen. rtd., as the Chief Host, consented to sealing the wedding with Royal blessings. Vice President Shettima prayed for God's blessings on the couples, saying, "I am praying to ALLAH to bless the couples with good health and longevity as well as afford them with the best offsprings." He also offered supplications to the Almighty Creator to endow the nation with abundant prosperity, peace, and security.
The Chief Imam of Palace Jumu'a Mosque, Birnin Kebbi, Liman Muhammadu Lawali, performed the final Islamic Prescriptions to solemnize the holy matrimony, while the Chief Imam of the Central Mosque, Sheikh Mukhtar Walin Gwandu, offered fervent prayers for God's blessings for the newlyweds, increased God's wisdom for leaders, tranquility, and progress for the country.
