Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has commiserated with the people of Gwandu over the passing of Mallam Umaru Hassan, the revered Sarkin Mallamam Garin Gwandu, who died on Sunday at the age of 99 after a prolonged illness.
During a condolence visit to the late cleric's eldest son, Sanusi Umar, Director of Finance at the Federal Airports Aviation Authority (FAAN), in Gwandu on Monday, Governor Idris expressed his deep sympathy to the family. "No words can express the vacuum left behind by our father, Mallam Umaru Hassan Sarkin Mallamai, except to pray to ALLAH to grant him mercy and admit him into ALJANNAH FIRDAUSI," the governor said.
Alhaji Sanusi Umar, in response, thanked Governor Idris for his condolence visit and compassion, praying that ALLAH rewards him abundantly. Mallam Umaru Hassan is survived by one wife, eleven children, and many grandchildren, including a retired staff of the Federal Medical Centre, Birnin Kebbi, Mallam Faruq Umar, and Sanusi Umar, Director of Finance at FAAN.
