Kebbi Governor's Wife Supports Education with Free JAMB Forms for Over 2,500 Students

The wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, has distributed free JAMB forms to over 2,500 students under the Kauran Gwandu Advocacy Forum (KAGAF). The beneficiaries, mostly less privileged, orphans, and persons with disabilities, were drawn from the 21 local government areas of the state.

At the flag-off ceremony in Birnin Kebbi, Hajiya Zainab Nasare recalled that her husband, Governor Nasir Idris, started the free form distribution to indigent students four years ago. This initiative aims to provide ample opportunities for the students to pursue higher studies. The First Lady emphasized that the incumbent administration has placed a premium on the development of the education sector and attainment of quality education.

Represented by the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Halima Muhammad Bande, the First Lady advised students to strive with renewed vigor to pass their examinations at all levels, particularly WAEC, NECO, and JAMB. This, she believes, would propel Kebbi State to take the first position in examinations nationwide.

Dr. Bande expressed appreciation for Hajiya Zainab Nasare's initiatives, support for educational matters, and assistance to students and pupils. She urged prominent individuals in the state to sponsor at least one child in school, emphasizing the importance of supporting the girl child.

The Commissioner reminded the students that possessing JAMB forms alone does not guarantee automatic admission into university. She stressed the importance of reading hard to pass examinations, as required.

Comrade Mansir Sarki Gwandu, Chairman of Kauran Gwandu Advocacy Forum (KAGAF), commended the First Lady and her husband for inspiring the forum's members to realize their objectives. He urged beneficiaries to fill the form with the appropriate subject combination.
