Kebbi Community Hails Three Crown Mines LTD for Fulfilling Promises

The landowners of Libata and Kwanga community in Wara-Ngaski Local Government Area, under Yauri Emirate of Kebbi State, have expressed their gratitude to Three Crown Mines LTD for fulfilling the promise agreement entered between the mining company and the landowners.

Rilwanu Yahaya Libata, Chairman of the landowners, disclosed this in an interview with journalists over the weekend. According to Libata, in 2023, Three Crown Mines LTD obtained an Expiration License (EL) and sought permission from the landowners to conduct an experiment on their farm lands. After conducting the experiment, the company returned to inform the landowners that they had found what they were looking for in the land.

"As landowners, we demanded three things," Libata explained. "First, payment of compensation; second, allocation of a portion of land to learn mining activities; and third, five percent of whatever is extracted from the mining site as owners of the land." Libata stated that the company has fulfilled all these agreements.

Libata also appreciated Governor Nasir Idris for stopping illegal mining activities in the community and approving Three Crown Mines LTD to operate in the area. He noted that the company's presence has brought significant developmental achievements to the community.

Since 2023, the company has sponsored 50 youths to universities, providing each with N250,000 as upkeep and pocket money. The company has also paid for hajj seats for 40 people from the community, worth over N400 million. Additionally, the company has awarded a contract to construct two hospitals in Libata and Kabirba, worth N240 million. The company also provides monthly salaries for some Islamic clerics, imams, old ages, and youths, as well as paying electricity bills for the community.

"We view the governor's approval and that of the federal government for Three Crown Mines LTD to operate in our community as a blessing," Libata said. "Within two years, we have recorded rapid developmental achievements. We have nothing to offer the governor but to continue praying for him and his administration." Libata urged the community to continue supporting the company and the present administration's policies.
