Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has ordered the immediate reopening of the School of Health Technology Jega, as part of his administration's efforts to boost healthcare education in the state. This development comes on the heels of a significant boost to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, as hundreds of former PDP members, led by a former Commissioner, Magawata, and Alhaji Abba Aliero, defected to the APC.
Speaking on behalf of Alhaji Abba Aliero and others, Magawata praised Governor Nasir Idris's leadership, citing his good governance, love for the people, and positive impact on communities across the state.
Magawata further commended the governor's diligence in governance, highlighting the overwhelming positive impact of his administration. "You have shown diligence in the task of governance, the positive impact of your administration is overwhelming, we are here with our leader, Abba Aliero, to help you to consolidate on developing the state," he added.
The former Commissioner also revealed that Senator Muhammadu Adamu Aliero, their leader, would soon be joining the APC, along with his supporters. However, it's worth noting that Senator Aliero had previously returned to the PDP. "Our master (Sen. Muhammadu Adamu Aliero) is also on the way to joining us in the APC, all his supporters are now with you," Magawata said.
The APC State Chairman, who presented the defectors to the Governor, welcomed them back to the party, describing their defection as "coming back home." He noted that they were formerly members of the APC before joining the PDP, but have now returned to the APC fold.
Earlier, Governor Nasir Idris visited Kalgo to thank the people for their support to him and the APC. During the visit, he received hundreds of PDP defectors led by the former Chairman of Kalgo local government, Umar Namashaya Diggi, into the APC. This development is seen as a significant boost to the APC in the state, ahead of future elections.
