APC Gains Momentum in Kebbi State with Influx of Former PDP Members

In a significant boost to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State, hundreds of former members, including a former Chairman of Kalgo local government, Umar Namashaya Diggi, have defected back to the party.

The defectors, led by Abba Aliero's associate, Muhammadu Magawata Aliero, were presented to Governor Nasir Idris by the APC State Chairman. Magawata explained that their decision to return to the APC was driven by the governor's sincerity and diligence in governance.

"Your Excellency, we did not come back to the APC for the sake of securing government posts or wealth, we are already comfortable in life, we are here because of your sincerity of purpose," Magawata said. "You have shown diligence in the task of governance, the positive impact of your administration is overwhelming, we are here with our leader,  Abubakar Abba Aliero, to help you to consolidate on developing the state."

Magawata also revealed that other  leaders, would soon be joining the APC, along with their supporters. The APC State Chairman described their defection as "coming back home" since they were formerly members of the party before joining the PDP.

Earlier, Governor Nasir Idris had visited Kalgo to thank the people for their support to him and the APC. During the visit, he received the defectors into the APC fold.
