Fatal Auto Accident in Kogi Leaves 6 Dead, Many Injured

A devastating auto crash occurred on Tuesday along the Hassan Katsina road in Kogi State, resulting in the loss of six lives. The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) confirmed the fatalities and reported that approximately 60 others sustained injuries of varying degrees.

According to the FRSC Kogi Sector Commander, Mr. Samuel Oyedeji, the accident was caused by excessive speed. "Our officers, in collaboration with the Police and NSCDC personnel, rushed the injured to the Kogi Specialist Hospital and Federal University Teaching Hospital, Lokoja, for medical attention," he stated.

Mr. Oyedeji further revealed that the six corpses had been deposited at the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Lokoja mortuary. The truck involved in the accident was traveling from Bauchi to Enugu State before the incident occurred around Zone 8 roundabout in Lokoja.

The sector commander urged motorists and other road users to adhere to traffic regulations and guidelines to ensure the safety of lives.
