Her Excellency Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris, the wife of Kebbi State Governor, has demonstrated her commitment to women's empowerment by donating N50 million to women in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) through her foundation, NANAS.

The donation was presented through her foundation, NANA'S FOUNDATION, during the 6th edition of 'Kebbi Business Expo Week' held on Sunday at Azbir Arena, Birnin Kebbi. Hajiya Nafisa expressed her enthusiasm for the entrepreneurial endeavors of women in the state, stating that small businesses can significantly improve the lives of women and their families . She urged the recipients to utilize the donation judiciously, investing in their businesses to ensure sustainability and growth.

Hajiya Nafisa also commended her husband, Governor Nasir Idris, for his initiatives supporting women and children, particularly vulnerable orphans and less privileged women. Other notable speakers, including the wife of Katsina State Governor, Hajiya Fatima Dikko Rada, and Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajiya Halima Hassan Kamba, echoed similar sentiments.

The event highlighted the importance of collaboration between government, civil society, and private sector partners in promoting women's empowerment and economic development. This donation is part of a larger effort to support women's economic empowerment in Kebbi State. The Kebbi State government has recently launched a N100 million empowerment scheme for women and youth.

The foundation has implemented various initiatives, including skill development programs, medical outreaches, and educational support programs, benefiting women, girls, and the people of the state.
