Hon. Abubakar Shuaibu Kauran Yauri, Chairman of Yauri Local Government Council, recently hosted a dinner reception in honor of his councillors and the vice chairman. This gesture was a token of appreciation for their outstanding performance during a retreat organized by the Kebbi State Government for all 21 local government areas.
The retreat, held at Dankane Hotel in Sokoto State, aimed to equip councillors with knowledge of their constitutional roles and administrative procedures. Chairman Kauran Yauri directed all councillors to attend the dinner reception, and everyone, including the vice chairman, was present on Sunday night.
Chairman Kauran Yauri praised his team's conduct during the two-day event in Sokoto, noting that their behavior was exemplary and worthy of recognition. He urged his councillors to apply the knowledge gained during the retreat, setting an example for other local government councils to follow.
He encouraged other council chairmen to emulate his gesture, fostering stronger relationships between chairmen and their councillors. This, he believes, will facilitate harmonious working relationships and effective local government administration.
The event concluded with special prayers for peace, unity, and harmonious coexistence among the people of Yauri Local Government, Kebbi State, and Nigeria as a whole. Chairman Kauran Yauri expressed gratitude to Governor Nasir Idris for supporting elected leaders with retreats, training, and conferences to enhance their knowledge and skills.
In his final remarks, Chairman Kauran Yauri called on other local government council chairmen to extend similar gestures to their councillors, promoting a culture of appreciation and collaboration. This, he emphasized, would ultimately contribute to the smooth execution of local government administration.
