Kebbi Governor Hails Local Contractors for Ultra-Modern Secretariat Completion

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has commended local contractors for their outstanding work in completing key infrastructure projects across the state. During an unscheduled inspection of the Ultra-Modern Secretariat Complex in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday, the Governor expressed his delight with the contractors' adherence to project specifications and timely completion of the Secretariat.

"Look at my face; you can see happiness all over me. Honestly, I am the happiest person. The contractors worked according to the agreed specifications and even completed the project ahead of schedule," Governor Idris said, beaming with pride. This achievement showcases the capabilities of indigenous contractors, reaffirming his administration's commitment to engaging local expertise in future projects.

"I want to assure our local contractors that we will continue to engage them so that they can further demonstrate their expertise," Governor Idris pledged. The Secretariat Complex is expected to be completed before year-end, with plans underway to invite President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to commission the project. "You can see they are just putting finishing touches. By the grace of God, once it is completed, we will formally invite Mr. President. I have already discussed this with him."

As a former unionist and labour leader, Governor Idris is driven to complete the long-abandoned project. He emphasized the Secretariat's significance in housing all ministries and civil servants under one roof for greater efficiency. During President Tinubu's visit, other completed projects, including roads, hospitals, schools, a new motor park, and waterworks, will also be inaugurated.

Accompanied by top government officials, including the Head of Service, Alhaji Malami Muhammad Shekare, and the Accountant General, Alhaji Bello Ibrahim Nahaliku, the Governor inspected the ongoing extension of the College of Nursing Sciences in Gwadangaji. Arc. Munir Musa Jega, Managing Director of MTech Universal Concept, guided the Governor through the complex.

This development is part of Governor Idris' broader vision for Kebbi State, where infrastructure development and local empowerment go hand-in-hand. With his administration's focus on transparency and accountability, Kebbi State is poised for transformative growth.
