Federal Government Begins Repairs on Lagos-Sango-Abeokuta Expressway

The Federal Government has commenced repairs on the 7 km dilapidated sections of the Lagos-Sango-Otta-Abeokuta road, aiming to bring relief to motorists and commuters who have endured the poor road conditions for some time.

This effort is part of the Federal Ministry of Works' "Operation Free Our Roads" initiative, spearheaded by Sen. Engr. Nweze David Umahi. The Lagos-Sango-Abeokuta Expressway, specifically the 7 km dilapidated sections is to provide relief to motorists and commuters
in Collaboration with Federal Ministry of Works and the concessionaire


The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, recently inspected the palliative works on the damaged portion of the road . A construction firm, Granebur Contrition Company's, has also begun a 24- hours rehabilitation of a part of the Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway.


This development follows previous calls for action on the road's deplorable condition. In 2021, the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing and the Ogun State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure finalized plans for palliative work on critical sections of the Sango- Ota-Idiroko Road .
