NUJ Presidential Aspirant, Comrade Garba, Calls for Unity and Peace Ahead of Triennial Delegate Conference

Comrade Garba Muhammad, a leading aspirant for the post of National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has appealed to fellow aspirants and members to work together for the progress and unity of the Union.

In his Eid Maulud message, Comrade Garba Muhammad urged members to uphold the tenets of the profession as the watchdog of society and work towards free and fair elections during the forthcoming conference. He emphasized the importance of a level-playing ground for all candidates and commitment to supporting whoever emerges as the new NUJ President.

Garba Muhammad also called on religious leaders to prioritize peace, unity, and progress in their preachings and teachings, and to work with the government to address insecurity and economic challenges.

He commended Muslim leaders for their roles in promoting peace and harmony, especially in the Northern region, and urged well-meaning Nigerians to partner with the government and security agencies to find a lasting solution to banditry.

He than reiterated his commitment to improving the profession and working collaboratively with stakeholders to bring positive changes to the union.
