Birnin Kebbi, May 22, 2026(Series News Online)— Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, on Friday joined the Emir of Gwandu, His Royal Highness Alhaji Muhammad Iliyasu Bashar, to observe the two-Raka’at Jumu’ah prayer at the Abdullahi Fodio Palace Mosque in Birnin Kebbi.
The governor was accompanied by top government officials as he prayed alongside the Emir, who is also Chairman of the Kebbi State Council of Chiefs.
The congregational prayer drew worshippers from within the palace and neighbouring communities.
Special prayers were offered during the session for sustained peace, unity, and continued progress of Kebbi State and Nigeria.
“Special prayers were offered for sustained peace, unity, and continued progress of Kebbi State and Nigeria as a whole,” a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Yahya Sarki, said.
After the prayer, Governor Idris exchanged pleasantries with the Emir of Gwandu.
The governor wished the monarch good health, long life, and continued wisdom in leadership.
The visit underscores the state government’s continued engagement with traditional institutions in promoting unity and stability in Kebbi State.
