Zulum Boosts Borno Medics' Morale with Training Fund, Promotions

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has unveiled a special training fund for 56 medical doctors undergoing residency training under the state's sponsorship, a move aimed at enhancing their skills and performance.

The announcement was made during a meeting with the resident doctors at the Government House, where Zulum also approved immediate promotions for deserving medics, with arrears to be paid effective from the date of their promotions.

"We are committed to creating a conducive environment for our health professionals, understanding that their dedication is crucial to delivering quality healthcare services to our citizens," Zulum stated.

The governor directed the Borno State Hospital Management Board to engage with other medical doctors not undergoing residency training, reiterating that the welfare of health workers remains a top priority for his administration.
Key health sector stakeholders, including Commissioner for Health, Professor Baba Mallam Gana, and Chairman of the State Hospital Management Board, Dr Joseph Jatau, attended the meeting.
