Alhaji Abdulrazaq Isa Kutepa, Chairman and CEO of Waltersmith Petroman Oil Limited, has initiated the distribution of Ramadan palliatives worth N50 million to over 6,000 beneficiaries across five wards in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The essential food items, including rice, milk, grains, and beans, are being distributed through the Hakimis of the benefiting wards to ensure equitable reach to the grassroots.
"The intervention is part of the philanthropist's annual humanitarian gesture to cushion the hardship faced by vulnerable residents during the holy month of Ramadan," said Alhaji Ali, Mayaki of Lokoja, representing Kutepa at the ceremony.
Hajiya Maimuna Inuwa added that over 6,000 beneficiaries are expected to benefit from the initiative, with the distribution process carefully organized to avoid rancour and ensure transparency.
"This year's distribution has been structured in a way that guarantees fairness and orderliness. We appeal to the Hakimis to distribute the materials with the fear of Allah and in line with the guidelines provided," he said.
Alhaji Danladi Abdulsalam Dina, a member of the Board of Trustees, Kutepa Outreach, stated, "The gesture underscores Kutepa's dedication to supporting communities and promoting social welfare."
Allocations were also handed over to the Federation of Muslim Women's Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN) to ensure vulnerable women and households benefit from the Ramadan support programme.
The Hakimi of Sarkin Noma community expressed appreciation to the Maigari of Lokoja, Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi IV, for his continuous support towards humanitarian initiatives in the area.
The ceremony was attended by notable personalities, including Hon. Double Prince, Hon. Danjuma Abbas, and Hon. Baba Sulaiman Dan Sarkin, among others.
