The Kogi State Police Command has a new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Saliu Oyiza Afusat, who has assumed office, replacing CSP William Ovye Aya.
ASP Afusat, an indigene of Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State, was commissioned into the Nigeria Police Force as an Assistant Superintendent of Police on September 7, 2024, after completing a five-year training programme at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State.
Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, welcomed ASP Afusat to her new role, expressing confidence in her abilities to effectively communicate the Command's activities and initiatives.
"ASP Afusat's appointment is a welcome development, and I have no doubt she will excel in her new role," CP Kankarofi said.
ASP Afusat has undergone relevant professional and leadership training, including a Virtual Assistant Certification Programme, Police Mobile Training, and Leadership and Citizenship Training.
Prior to her appointment, she served as Officer-in-Charge of the Gender Desk, B Division, Felele, and was previously deployed as the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Kogi State Police Command.
Outgoing PPRO, CSP William Ovye Aya, said, "The Command looks forward to ASP Afusat's contributions in enhancing public engagement and promoting the image of the Nigeria Police Force in Kogi State."
