Bauchi Govt Vows to Stand with Families of Fallen Heroes via First Lady

The wife of Bauchi State Governor, Hajiya Aisha Bala Muhammad, has reiterated the state government's commitment to supporting families of fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice defending Nigeria. She made this pledge during a visit to the 33 Artillery Brigade headquarters in Bauchi, as part of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebrations.

Represented by Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Lydia Haruna Tsammani, the First Lady donated relief materials and conveyed words of encouragement to families of deceased officers and soldiers. "We urge well-meaning individuals and organizations to continually remember and support families of fallen heroes who lost their lives safeguarding our nation's territorial integrity," she said.

The gesture, she hoped, would bring comfort and relief to the beneficiaries, who were urged to utilize the items wisely.

Brigadier General U. G. Simon, Commander of the 33 Artillery Brigade, praised the Bauchi State Government for its consistent support and concern for citizens' welfare, particularly families of fallen military personnel. "We appreciate the First Lady's compassion and unwavering support," he said, assuring that the donated items would be fairly distributed.

The visit underscores the Bauchi State Government's dedication to honouring the sacrifices of Armed Forces members and standing in solidarity with their families.
