The wife of Bauchi State Governor, Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed, has thrown a lavish New Year party for kids, thanking Allah for a safe transition into 2026 and praying for the continued wellbeing of children in the state.
Speaking at the event held at the Dr. Sulaiman Adamu Stadium, Government House, Bauchi on Saturday, Dr. Aisha said the annual bash was meant to spread joy to children and remind them they're valued and central to Bauchi's future.
"I'm delighted to celebrate the start of 2026 with our wonderful kids, parents, and guests," she said.
The First Lady praised her husband, Governor Bala Mohammed, for his support of policies boosting women's and children's welfare, education, and wellbeing.
"We're dedicated to creating opportunities for our kids to grow in a safe, healthy environment," she assured.
Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Dr. Lydia Haruna Tsanmani, represented by Permanent Secretary Sale Mamman, lauded the First Lady's commitment to women and kids.
"The ministry will keep working with the First Lady's office to impact lives," she said.
The event featured prayers, dance, quiz, and a debate on girls' vs boys' education, with Khadija Adamu supporting girls' education and Abubakar Muhammad Munkaila advocating for boys'.
