The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, has received the executive members of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Lokoja Branch, as part of efforts to strengthen partnership and collaboration between the police and the legal community.
"We are committed to ensuring transparency, professionalism, and collaboration with zero tolerance for police misconduct," CP Kankarofi said. "We acknowledge the NBA's crucial role in facilitating criminal justice administration and urge them to visit detention facilities to monitor conditions."
The CP emphasized the importance of synergy between law enforcement and the legal community, pledging to work closely with the NBA to promote justice, rule of law, and public safety.
AS Abbas Esq., Chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association, Lokoja Branch, commended the CP on the ongoing efforts in the fight against crime and criminality in the State.
"We appreciate the efforts of the police in maintaining peace and security in Kogi State," Abbas said. "We emphasize the significance of collaboration between the Police and NBA to ensure smooth administration of justice."
The visit marked a significant step towards enhancing justice delivery and promoting a safer community in Kogi State.
CSP William Ovye Aya, Police Public Relations Officer, Kogi State Police Command, said the collaboration would focus on information sharing and cooperation to prevent crime commission.
The NBA and police command also discussed ways to improve the treatment of detainees and ensure that justice is served in a fair and timely manner.
