NOA Reinforces National Values Charter at Kebbi Correctional Service Training College

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has reinforced its commitment to national integration and behavioral reform by engaging officers of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) Training College, Makera, Birnin Kebbi, on the National Values Charter (NVC).

Addressing the officers, NOA Kebbi State Director, Mal. Nasiru Mohammed Karofi, emphasized the importance of adopting the NVC principles in their professional duties, particularly in interactions with colleagues and inmates.

"The inmates are human beings too," Karofi stressed. "The primary assignment of the NCS staff is to treat those in their custody with the utmost compassion and care, aligning their conduct with the tenets of the National Values Charter."

The NVC outlines reciprocal commitments between the government and citizens, focusing on seven key areas: equality, democracy, entrepreneurship, peace, inclusivity, freedom, and meritocracy.

The programme includes animated educational content for behavioural modification, initiatives for improved global reputational management, and teaching the NVC to corps members and ITF students.

NCS Deputy Commandant, Mrs. Sarah Dauda Senchi, expressed gratitude to the NOA team, noting the lecture's potential to effect positive changes in officers' engagement with inmates and their professional conduct.
