The Chairman of Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Hussaini Aliyu, has dismissed a claim made by US lawmaker Riley Moore that the abduction of the Maga school girls occurred in a Christian enclave. Aliyu emphasized that all 25 abducted school girls are Muslims, describing the comment as misleading and capable of sparking unnecessary religious tension.
"The comment is not only false but also has the potential to undermine the efforts of the government to secure the release of the abducted girls," Aliyu said. "The Zuru Emirate, where Maga community is located, has a long history of peaceful coexistence and has never experienced religious crises."
Aliyu urged the US lawmaker to refrain from making unverified statements that could portray Nigeria in a negative light or undermine national unity.
